What is Squalor?
A multiplayer extraction game set in a medieval kingdom devoured by plague. First-person. Cross blades with a foe and the world narrows to the two of you — read his swing, catch the parry on the beat, break him in a clinch. Loot is hardcore: die and you may lose what you brought. We wear our inspirations openly — Kingdom Come: Deliverance, For Honor, and the extraction loop of Escape from Tarkov.
When does it release?
TBA. No earlier than 2027. We will not give a hard date until we are confident we can keep it. Sign up for our vigil on the homepage to know first.
Which platforms?
PC (Windows) only at launch. We may look at Linux via Proton later. No console plans currently.
Will Russian be supported?
Yes. Russian and English at launch. Other languages may follow.
Will there be a single-player or PvE-only mode?
Squalor is built around multiplayer extraction. The world will contain AI enemies (bandits, undead, beasts) alongside other pilgrims. A pure PvE mode is not planned for launch, though we may explore one later.
How will the game be priced? Are there microtransactions?
Price is not yet set. We have made our promises clear: no pay-to-win, no loot boxes, no NFT, no crypto, no random rewards for money. The pricing model is not locked yet — we will announce it plainly before release, with no fine print. We may eventually offer cosmetic items that do not change combat, and expansions for those who want more world. Read the full set on our about page.
Where can I follow development?
For now, our newsletter on the homepage. Discord, Steam, and social channels are being prepared and will be announced when ready.
How can I support the project before it releases?
Sign up for our newsletter and tell people who might be interested. That is enough. We do not run crowdfunding campaigns and we will not until we have something to show worth your money.
